We actively encourage the blogging community to submit guest posts for our blog, in fact we’re bloody chuffed when people do.

But first, please read through these really brief guidelines to save you time and save us time. We all know how important it is.

Legitimate Authority

If you’re a blogger writing posts on behalf of outside organisations being paid for links then stop now. Don’t even bother reading any further. Here’s a few things that tell us this is the case:
- Your email address is not from the organisation you say you represent
- When we check out the website you’re representing we don’t see you
- The topic you’ve proposed has absolutely nothing to do with the operations of the business you represent

Google+ Connection

We’re not accepting guest posts from bloggers whom don’t already have a Google+ profile. It’s for our benefit and yours. As part of your author profile on your OnQ blog post we will direct people to your Google+ profile and we ask that you add a link from your Google+ profile to your OnQ blog post. This will help us build credibility and it is going to encourage more people to read your content.

What are we looking for

There’s so many marketing blogs out there, particularly those targeting small business. So how are we different to any of them? How are we trying to be different?

Well there’s not a clear line in the sand but we do look to provide informative pieces that do not hide behind obscurity, we seriously want to help small businesses by providing either in-depth knowledge and advice or alternatively providing the context that helps to make real change.

So for example we will always love the old ’10 Social Media Tips for the Tourism Industry’ or ‘How To  Use Pinterest for your Small Business’. We ideally want to connect more with the blogging community so if you can highlight some of your favourite bloggers and how they can help small business then fantastic. If you disagree with someone’s post and want a platform to take a stance, let us know we’ll let you stand on our soap-box.

What will we provide

We’re not alone here, we’re not offering money but we will provide you with an Author profile with up to three links. We will submit your post to StumbleUpon, tweet it via @onqmarketing, post it to our Google+ page and if it’s relevant share it on LinkedIn.

Formatting

We’re flexible. Send something through in a Word doc or in the body of an email. Of course if you can send through in HTML it’s going to make our job much easier, so this will be appreciated!

Shoot us an email with the details. We’re not going to stand on our pedestal and knock you back. If the product is of interest to us as a business then we’ll look at it. Of course we’re like many others, we’ll respond even better to a little incentive whether that’s a free product or links back to our site.
